Mie Prefecture is the home of Matsuzaka Beef - one of the top 'Wagyu' in Japan. It was in Mie where world leaders came for the G7 summit in Ise-shima. Pay a visit to Japan's leading power spot - Ise Shrine, or try out the food at nearby Okage-yokocho. Walk around and enjoy sampling local delicacies like wagyu croquette or Ise kamaboko. If you happen to have more time, take it easy and try some of the local cuisine like Ise udon, made up of very thick and chewy udon noodles topped with a rich sauce; and Aka-fuku, a pounded rice cake topped with sweet bean paste. Also make sure to check out Nabana Hill to take in some beautiful illuminations at night.
